One of the most
important things to remember about natural
skin care is that your body is doing it's
best to repair and maintain itself. Interfering
with it's automatic processes by adding processed
chemicals can have more of a negative effect
than a positive. This is not to say that all
lotions that have a large amount of chemicals
are bad for you but the closer you get to
the way mother nature works, the better.
Although there
has never been direct relationship established
between diet and skin health, it's probably
a good idea to assume there is. Eating foods
rich in preservatives and lacking in vitamins
and minerals will probably have a direct effect
on your overall health and therefore the appearance
of your skin. Vitamins C and E are most closely
associated with skin health. Vitamin C specifically,
which encourages normal cell growth allowing
for quick regeneration of damaged cells. Eating
more naturally will almost certainly create
a strong and positive reaction in your skins
overall health and appearance.
Soap and shampoo
products are usually enormously dependent
on various chemicals to produce results. Although
these chemicals are not harmful or poisonous,
they can cause a different reaction in different
people. Natural vitamin E based lotions, however,
and natural soaps can cleanse skin in ways
closer to what Mother Nature intended. Stripping
your skin of dead cells and toxins chemically
can be just effective with natural body cleansers
without the risk of leaving behind a film
of skin drying soap.
Your environment
can also take a pretty extreme toll including
humidity, smog, and heat. In low humidity
areas your skin will dry out quicker. If you
work or live in densely smoggy areas don't
be surprised if your skin looks unhealthy.
Take some extra time with it to cleanse yourself
of the toxins in the air.
