I started using this soap after researching this site in May 2011. I have psoriasis, had it since i was an early teenager. I haven't worn short since then. My body was always covered with red ichy spots and my scalp was just consumed!! Well i'm 29 now and have 2 kids of my own. these days and times it is hard to come up with a copay and then pay $10 for a little tube of oilly cream from a dr. not to mention a $100 shampoo for your scalp. So i tried this soap and the dead sea salts almost a year ago now. I started in May 2011. I soaked with the salts about 2 times a week. I switched out this soap for my Caress, or Dove. By the middle of june all of the spots were gone!!! I wore shorts for the first time since i was 15 I think! then I bought a bar for my face to control acne. This process took a couple of month washing 2 times a day. yes as in other reviews at first i broke out more, but if you stop and think it was cleansing away enough dirt and oil from my pores so that blackhead were diminished and the rest of the infected areas could come clean. Once you have cleaned your skin 2 times a day and everyday for a couple of months hopefully you will have clear skin like myself. no drugs, nothing that burns. Just a clean felling!!! If you want the short story here it is: This soap works wonders and is the only effective soap/face wash I have ever found after almost 10 YEARS of searching for something that would help control my hormonal acne and scars. My first bar lasted me 4.5 months I have a bit left and can probably make it last for another few weeks. A minimal amount lathers and goes a long way leaving skin feeling squeaky-clean. It also removes makeup effortlessly, and I wear a lot of makeup. I dont use it to remove mascara though just to avoid my eyes getting dry. Here is the long story if you care to know. Ive been waiting a LONG while to spend the time to write a review on a product that actually works for me so here it is... I am 21 years old, female, and have had acne since about 11 years old. Acne has literally ruined my life and has made me have such low self-esteem ever since; I feel so uncomfortable meeting new people because all I think about is that they are staring at my skin and the loads of makeup I have on. Starting out my mom would tell me it was just puberty and I would grow out of it, however that is not the case. As I got older and finished high school, I've completed YEARS of online searches for cures for this skin disease including medical procedures, natural remedies, diets... anyone who has or is going through the same thing knows exactly what Im talking about. Unfortunately, as a university student paying tuition, I became so desperate I even spent thousands of dollars on chemical peels that did not even make a slight difference in my skin one bit. Fortunately out of all this research I have done over the years, I have come to realize that when things are going wrong inside of your body, it shows through on the outside (on the skin.) This made me discover a hormonal imbalance and some other stuff to do with my liver. Going to a naturopath has helped however, no matter what, around my time of month I always break out. Continuing with this never ending search for a cure, I found myself looking for a more natural way to handle my acne however I was unable to find a new solution. Last summer I was at a market in Toronto with a friend who dragged me into this store. It was an African store that sold everything from drums to jewellery. The storeowner stopped me and pointed out my acne. I was SO embarrassed but he said he had something to help me. He showed me authentic African Black Soap. He read to me the ingredients and explained all the benefits. I was SO sceptical and not willing to pay 10$ for a bar of "soap" that looked like an old brownie. The friend I was with was sold completely and encouraged me to try it so I did. I was AMAZED at how powerful the authentic African black soap worked. That one bar of soap lasted me months. I even got many friends and family members hooked on the stuff too. The black soap helped to control my acne to some degree and even worked wonders on some eczema that developed due to stress around exam time. This soap seemed to be the greatest thing however I wasnt down to spend 10$ on such a small bar of soap every few months. I knew I was getting ripped off for the size of soap the guy was selling. I also knew there had to be a place I could buy it closer to home or online. During that search I stumbled upon Cleopatra's Choice. I saw the black soap sold here on the website but also noticed the Dead Sea mud soap. I have always heard stories about how amazing the Dead Sea is and how it can heal so many various conditions. I was sold instantly and purchased 1 bar along with the sulphur dead sea salt soap (I had heard great things about the sulphur properties, my naturopath also gave me a supplement with sulphur in it to help with acne from inside my body so I thought Id try it out). I received my Dead Sea mud soap and Dead Sea sulphur soap and used each for 3 weeks at a time. I noticed that the sulphur soap was milder but also either 1. Made me break out or 2. Didnt keep the acne under control. I have now been using the Dead Sea mud soap for 4 months and it has kept my skin under control. I still have break outs at my time of month but the greatest thing is that my family (the only people Im comfortable around without makeup) always compliments how AMAZING my skin is looking, how I barely have any bumps and how my scars are fading. My skin tone is just overall more evened out. Sometimes when Im at home my mom will ask me if I have makeup on or not. (Im convinced she just says that to make me feel good about my skin because I am still not 100% confident in it, but I have to admit I do see quite a difference.) I just purchased the Dead Sea mud mask along with another bar of the Dead Sea mud soap. I also plan on purchasing the pure Dead Sea mud. If you have been searching for a product that will help with acne, no matter how frustrated you may be I highly recommend spending the 8$ to try this soap. You cant go wrong.

I have been using this soap for about a year now. I have slight acne, mostly due to hormones around that time of the month, and this soap has really helped to clear up my face and keep it clear. I switched to Adovia after using an expensive seaweed mud soap that costed $45/bar. I was needing something more affordable and found this. I will stick with this bar from now on or until I can no longer find it anywhere. It does the same thing the expensive bar did and maybe even better! I still have occasional breakouts, but just a few pimples at random and they clear up in about a week vs. taking all month to only have a week of clear before beginning to try to heal a new round that has seemed to appear. For short, I REALLY LIKE THIS SOAP! Also, this last time I ordered a new bar I waited a little over 2 weeks for it to arrive before emailing Cleopatra's Choice to ask about my shipment. The next day after contacting them someone PERSONALLY called to tell me something had gone wrong with my order and they would be making my shipment that day, along with sending an extra soap. This soap is the best. Leaves you feeling clean. In the winter time, would always have dry skin, but with Dead Sea Mud Soap, I do not have this issue anymore.

The soap leaves the skin feeling and looking clean. It also helps to sooth dry patches on my face in the winter. The longevity of this soap is unbelievable

My first bar of this soap lasted me six months, granted I only used it on my face, but still I have never had a bar of facial soap last that long. It also helped my acne and pore size , after using this soap with the mask, I saw a change in my skin health after just a week of use. This is a great product!!

I had never used Adovia Dead Sea Mud Soap before, but I'm glad that I took a chance and bought a bar. I use it on my face and body and noticed a difference in my skin after the very first time. I have more problems with acne in the late 30's than I ever did as a teenager. Hormonal acne, stress acne, breakouts on my face and neck. I have tried every kind of soap, cleanser, scrubber, etc and some might help for a while but everything eventually irritated my skin more. Then I discovered this soap through Groupon...thank goodness for Groupon!! This is the best soap I've used in my entire life! My skin has cleared up and lots so much better. I have tried dozens of acne care products over the last decade. I finally moved away from harsh chemicals and began experimenting with natural alternatives. After nearly a year of trial and error, I found (raw organic) honey to be the most effective. But honey is very messy and is used up quickly (also has a slightly strange smell). So I was delighted when I found that this product actually works slightly BETTER, and is also not messy, last much longer, and a much better value (dollar for dollar it is better than twice the value!). I cannot express how grateful I am to have near-flawless skin again after almost 10 years of suffering. THANK YOU Adovia!

I have combination skin where at times it is extremely dry or it can get oily all in the same day. Using this soap tackles either problem at any time. It wont dry out your skin and it doesnt have a strong perfume smell. I really recommend this product highly!

okay so ever since I bought this soap I have been lovingggg ittt ...lemme just say that sometimes i suffer from acne not horrible acne but the kind that has a buncha bumps on my forehead and for a while ive been using a benzoyl peroxide face wash...I noticed that the face wash would sometimes help but it would dry out my skin so bad and since my face would get dry the dryness would cause wrinkles on my face I told myself that Im done using these face washes with a bunch of chemicals in it that if anything help for a couple weeks then make your skin worse...ladies im telling you USE ADOVIA SOAP its the besttt thing you can do for your skin stop wasting all your money on those harsh face washes that have a bunch of ingredients that i cant even pronounce...ever since i started using this soap my acne cleared right away and my skin is soooo soft my face does get dry a little bit but i dont mind i just use a oil free moisturizer at night...this has so far helped my skin in ways I never expected it too...i had first tried the african black soap which isnt bad but it would sometimes not do much for my acne but adovia helped a lot im never gonna use any other face wash for the rest of my life

I bought this soap with the hope that it would leave my face feeling deeply cleaned between facials. I have yo say it has made my face feel so baby soft, its amazing. I don't have acne or anything but my husband uses it on his psoriasis and it is helping. I especially love to follow up with a weekly facial of the Adovia Dead Sea MUD on my face and any body part that seems too rough. I use it on my husband psoriatic spots too and we both absolutely love it.

I started using this soap about a month ago. I would like to say first that it lathers very well and does good on my body. However not so well on my face! It was drying my face out and causing my acne to go crazy! This soap seems to work well for others but for me with sensitive skin... not so much!

I ordered this soap for my husband after reading about it on this website and also reading the many great reviews. We were not disappointed. He has Eczema on his face and was using some horrible ointment full of chemicals. From the first time he used this soap to wash his face he noticed a difference. I've been using the Dead Sea Soap for maybe two months now. I'm not sure if the soap is really doing anything to help my acne, but it's not burning my flesh like other soaps, so I'm not complain.

Continuing use has improved my skin tone, softness and suppleness reduced redness at inflammation sites leaving my skin smooth and soft. Super soap.

I love this soap so much! I've been struggling with Psoriasis and I have the small red patches and I've tried so many things :(. I came across this product on the internet due to my frustration and tried it. After using it for about 2-3 weeks I definitely saw the difference.My small flaky patches went away and I'm so happy! it leaves your skin moisturized and soft. It's amazing to me especially this cold season when Psoriasis conditions get really worse. I highly recommend this product. i HAVE LITERALLY SEEN THIS SOAP PERFORM MIRACLES IN PEOPLES LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!! My girlfriend had the worse case of acne I had ever seen in my life. My heart broke for her when I listened to this beautiful girl crying and telling me about all the medications and side effects ( her skin was literally falling off her face)caused by the dryness and side affects from these acne drugs that were not working for her as she still had horrible acne. Her acne was so bad that it was painful for me to even look at. So I decided to try and help my friend. I remembered when I was a little girl my brother had horrible cystic acne nothing ever worked but back then they did not have all the acne cleansers and things. So when we went swimming in a local lake in my rural area of South Dakota his acne would improve and even clear up tempoarily. The reason for this was this particular lake (Medicine Lake) had a unusually high salt and mineral content as your skin would turn white with crusty layer of salt when you dried after swimming. This lake also used to sell this salt and minerals in a dried powder form that I remembered watching people buying this dried Medicine Lake water for skin ailments. Also there was an old Native Indian man who would put this water in gallon milk jugs and when I asked him what he didi with it he said he put it on cuts, bruises etc and also drank it!! You could go in this water with a bad cut on your leg or arm and spend the day playing in the water and the next day the cut would be practically healed and the same with my brothers acne would clear up after a day swimming in this water!!! Soooo this prompted me to search on the internet trying to see if they still sold this water in powder form, well they didnt but what do you know? The Dead Sea Salts popped up instead!!! Well we ordered the Dead Sea Mud Soap as well as the Facial Salts & within 2 months her acne was GONE!!! The REDNESS WAS GONE!!! For the first time I was able to see her face without all the ACNE!!! She said it was truly a miracle in her life as she had never been able to look in the mirror and just see herself with out any acne, redness, swelling, dry skin etc!!! Her confidence level went through the roof!!!!!!!!!!!! It was great to see and know that there truely is something out there that works for acne and is natural and not harsh and drying and no side effects!!!! I have had psoriasis for a number of years, I'm pleased to say that since I have been buying this soap I am now off all Presrciption medications for my skin problem. The soap and the body lotion works wonders together. Sad they no longer sell the big bottle of the lotion.

I have had psoriasis since 1966 and have had the best results using tar solutions. However, it is getting harder and harder to find products with tar. When I found this soap and all the good reviews I thought I would give it a try. It did not work well for me. It dried my skin out terribly. I guess that's why it works so good for acne. I looked further online and found MG217 psoriasis ointment so I'm going to give that a try. My husband has used the shampoo and it works well. I have tried prescription pills and creams along with prescription steroids. They have burned my skin and made my hair fall out, so I really hate to go back to any prescriptions again. But, right now my skin has bloomed with psoriasis and I am in misery. I was hoping this mud soap would work but it didn't.

I love this soap! My skin was starting to breakout and nothing seemed to be stopping it, luckily I had recently purchased this soap. I started using it on my face and within one use I could notice a difference. After only a few uses my skin cleared up, and I just purchased another three bars because this soap really does work and I use it everyday! This soap was recommended for my two teenage children with acne. It has worked wonders on their skin. I have extemely dry flaky skin and decided to try it. So far my skin does not have that tight feeling after being cleansed and seems to less dry.

I think this is a good soap for people with very oily skin and maybe other issues. It worked really nice at first, but I noticed my skin has lost its natural oils and has become dry looking , Won't be buying anymore.

I purchased the Adovia Mud Soap to use strictly as a facial soap and I am very happy with how clean it leaves my skin. Since I've been only using the soap for a short time I can't say anything other than it cleans very well, I mean squeaky clean. Sometimes I lather it in my hand to wash my face other times I lather it on a terry washcloth to wash and exfoliate. Regardless how I use the soap to clean my face, it does the job very well.

I love this soap! It has helped greatly with skin conditions i get from time to time, plus it keeps me free of adult acne. I dont have bad acne, but i cant stand having any kind of acne.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this soap is. This product does wonders for my skin. Its great because it does not irritate my skin or dry it out. I bought this soap for my eczema, i read about good reviews about it and it really works for me, i used this twice a day on my daily shower and i noticed the patches from the eczema got dried up and kinda lighten my skin.. i'm gonna buy this soap again. thanks Adovia!

What a HUGE difference compared to all the other brands I've tried. My face has always been oily day or night no matter what I used. In fact, I would carry one of those small microfiber towels with me to wipe the oil from my face. I tried the Andovia Dead Sea Mud Soap for the first time last night and when I woke up this morning I was surprised to see how clean and normal my face appeared. NO OILY SKIN! I washed my face again this morning and even used a shaving brush to lather up to shave with the mud soap as another poster mentioned. It is now late afternoon and I have yet to reach for my microfiber towel! No late afternoon shine to my face or the "oily greasy look". When I get home I am clearing out my bathroom cabinet and I'm ordering more of this soap.

Although the bar smell nice and lathers well, it did not help me at all for my acne. I was very disappointed in the product. It is fine as a general soap, but do not expect any other benefits.

I start using this soao Monday today is Thursday and all I can say is WOW! I don't have enough words to say about this MIRACLE soap..I have not had Psoriasis since in my teens 2011 I broke out again after 30 years. When I got sick my skin from head to toe broke out I was freaking out and scared. My regular doctor could not figure out my break out. It's been so long since I had it I forgot what Psoriasis looked like. My friend told me to go to see this dermatologist and I did. I told him I got really sick with strep throat and that is a trigger for my Psoriasis. He told me I had guatte psorasis caused by strep. He gave me steroid creams and told me to tan. And told me to use tgel shampoo I done it all. Once it cleared up when I got sick again I broke out again and had a bad flare up for the second time with tgel. I was searching and trying to find another way besides tanning. Tanning is bad for you cancer and wrinkles And steroid creams after a while thins your skin out. And the medications have so many side effects some can weaken your immune system. So I saw this website and said I give it a try and WOW!!! I still can't believe it's healing my Psoriasis this will be my soap.. It smells earthy but clean and fresh it's worth it!! Thank you for the great customer service and your products!

I have been loosing the battle with Psoriasis for several years. It has gotten to the point where I would spend a couple hours a day just applying the oily creams I received from my doctors. Waiting for it to absorb so it doesn't get all over my clothes and still not feeling much relief. I do not want to take any of the perscriptions because the side affects scare me. Cancer and heat failure just to name a few. I was at the point where I did not want to leave my house. I was so fed up one day that I started searching on line for any information or help with how I can try to control psoriasis or calm the itching and pain when I came across a website that had comments mud soap and a few mentioned Cleopatra's Choice and Adovia mudsoap and I figured why not,how could it hurt. IT CHANGED EVERYTHING!!!!! It was the best decision I have ever made. It has calmed the itching and my psoriasis is fading with every use. After the first week of use that the itching subsided, the flaky skin minimized and it wasn't constantly on my mind. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. In addition to the soap I use the bath salts at least one time a week if not more and the Mud shampoo really helps relieve my scalp. I gave one to my friend's husband who also has psoriasis and he had the same reaction.

My skin was getting so dried out over winter that i thought I'd give this soap a try. I've only just started using it but it smells and feels nice and my skin isn't feeling as dried out as it was. Makes my face feesl really nice and clean too but this soap doesn't give it that tight feeling like other soaps can. I'm a happy customer!

i am absolutely unhappy with my skin and paranoid about seeing people up close however i am beginning to see a bit of hope after only using this product for a week. xJust like what they declared in the introduction, it is Great for Eczema, Psoriasis or Acne! Firstly I tried this soap for my 18 yrs old son's acne face and body. It takes about 2 weeks for his face getting better and about 1 month for his chest and upper back. He said it was a Godly soap! After his friend's mother discovered the brilliant change on his face, she asked the medication that I might be used. As his son suffered from serious Eczema and Psoriasis that cost her more than 100 dollars per month on chinese traditional medicine (for 500ml oral and washing every day), after antibiotics/steroid has lost all its effect. I gave her one soap for trying. After one week, she told me her son's condition became better but not sure whether it was due to TCM or mud soap. At about 2 weeks, she called me and let me order a dozen soaps for her son(she is too busy). I'll admit; I'm a skeptic. I wasn't sure if this soap would do all it said it would. As one who gets cystic acne and as one who's had acne-prone skin for much of his life, I was certain I would just have to suffer with my acne. I've tried everything out there and stuck with the one brand of facial cleanser that had 10% benzoyl peroxide. With that, however, can horribly dry, peeling skin and acne that still surfaced. After trying everything out there, I happened upon this soap purely by accident. I saw it was for my type of skin (sometimes dry, always oily), so I gave it a try. After a few days of using it in the morning, in the early afternoon, and before bed, I noticed my face wasn't as oily (I'll always have oily skin; this soap helps keep it from becoming a slick) and my pores were noticeably smaller. In about a week's time, I noticed my acne started subsiding. After using this soap for nearly a month now, I've noticed a huge change in the way my face feels and looks. I still have some scarring from previous acne flareups, and I still get the occasional pimple, but this soap really is a cure-all.
