Makeup Cases - What should you Consider when Choosing One?
Cosmetic cases are essential for people who require it in their daily
profession. But they can also be very handy for those of us that just
want a neat and convenient way to organize our make up. Makeup cases can
be especially useful when you're traveling, to keep your cosmetics organized
and you may even use them as a tidy way of storing your cosmetics at home.
To begin with, there are soft cosmetic cases and there are hard cosmetic
cases. You may prefer the soft outer case if you're going to be putting
it inside a suitcase or cabin bag, for example. But if you like a cosmetic
case that is its own entity, then hard makeup cases are the way to go.
Their exterior is usually made from aluminum, and these are designed to
be carried around like a bag on their own - they have a handle at the
top and most of them have a detachable shoulder strap. The bigger ones
even have wheels on them with retractable handles to maximize portability.
The size you need obviously depends on how much stuff you own. You may
want to carry everything in the one case, or just those that are absolute
essentials.
Prior to choosing a beauty case, the most important thing to keep in
mind is that its purpose is to organize your cosmetics. You want to be
able to open your makeup case, and know exactly where any one thing is.
To ensure that this happens - firstly, find a train case that has many
compartments and secondly, remember to put things back where they belong
once you've used them! :)
You want there to be enough compartments so that you can arrange items
accordingly. For example, you can have one tray for all your blushes and
another for all your eye shadows. These compartment trays should also
be easy to pull out or slide out. Unless you're storing bottles or similarly
tall items, you should look for cases with compartments that aren't too
deep so everything is within easy reach. Your cosmetics should be kept
to one layer on each tray so that you don't have to dig underneath to
get to that particular shade of blush you want. Some makeup cases have
their own makeup
brushes holder, so you can stand your brushes up, instead of lying
them down, which could be preferred.
Look for cases that are made from durable materials that can easily be
cleaned - you're putting cosmetics in them, they're bound to get dirty
at some point, so you don't want them to absorb dirt or water. They should
also be sturdy so they can hold your most heavy items without fear of
it collapsing on you.
Just remember the key word: organization. You want a train case that's
going to make your life easier, with lots of good sized compartments,
easy to open and close, with good portability and built to last.
