More about Herstyler: Here at Cleopatra's Choice we pride ourselves in only bringing the best products to our customers. That may sound like some worn-out cliche, but the truth is our business is built strictly on repeat customers who come back to us because our products do what they say and due to the service they get.
That being said we tried several different brands of herstylers including ISO Beauty, Chi and a couple of others. We sent them to several hair salon clients who are our wholesale customers for the Adovia Skin Care line and asked them to try all including Herstyler. Their feeling on them were overwhelminly in agreement - they felt that Herstyler had the highest quality curlers and hair straighteners.
One thing we liked about this brand is the wide variety of choices they offer, not only in colors and design options but in the products themselves. For example there are various size options, plus an Wet to Dry iron, various curlers and more. Once we met with the management of the company and saw their operation we decided this is the brand we wanted to offer to our clients. We especially liked the fact that the brand was very focused about making products that are high quality and will serve customers well. Check out the article below on the best tips for using a flat iron and give Herstyler a try.
Tips for getting the most out of your Herstyler Flat Iron
The search for the perfect hair straightener is like the search for the perfect red lipstick or the search for the perfect little black dress. Flat irons have only been around for years. Before that, our mothers would lay their heads down on an ironing board and go to it with the household iron. Luckily things have changed a little, although the telltale burn marks on the foreheads of those who have used them for the first time still look the same. So here’s how to get the most out of your Herstyler.
Start with hair that isn’t squeaky clean.
The natural oils from your hair should have a day or two to coat the shaft. You will get a better result and your hair will be more protected from heat damage. If you have washed your hair, smooth a protective serum or a leave-in conditioner through it then tie it back tightly.
Dry it beforehand.
Unless you have the wet-to-dry iron which is specially designed to straighten wet hair, your hair should be dry before you begin. Otherwise you will hear the hissing sound of burning hair and the steam you produce will ruin your style before you even begin. If you have time, when you have tied back your towel dried hair, let it air dry. Most of your hair will be pulled straight and have the work will be done. If you don’t have that much time, use a hairdresser’s clip to secure your hair, then dry in sections using a round brush. The trick here is not to produce glossy straight hair with your blow dryer, but to make sure the roots are bone dried straight.
Use a good straightening serum
A lot of straightening products are quite thick and greasy. Less is more when using flat irons and a good protective hair serum will coat your hair shaft without making it look like an oil tanker that’s run aground. Herstyler make a great protective spray product that you can buy online and use with any flat irons. Spray some on the ends of your hair then a few squirts at random places over the rest of your head. Make sure you lift your hair to get to all of it then comb it through using a wide toothed comb while your hair is still wet.
Take your time
Take sections two centimetres wide, beginning at the base of your head and securing the rest with a hairdressers clip. Use a brush or a comb to detangle the section then grip the hair with the hair irons as close to the scalp as you can without burning yourself. Hold the grip for one to two seconds then slowly slide the irons down the length of the section. Comb again if necessary then run the irons over the same section again. Your arms will get tired, so it’s important to leave plenty of time to take a break here and there, otherwise it will become very tempting to straighten larger and larger sections. This might look fine at the time but when you’ve been out for half an hour, the frizz will creep in and your style will be ruined. Smaller sections are better, I know this through bitter experience.
Finish it off
After a final comb with a wide-toothed comb or brush, a light spray of a good gloss finisher will cool the hair shaft and close it, leaving you with a smooth style that is (a little bit) humidity resistant. If you can resist the urge to wash your hair every day, you will easily be able to touch up your straight look each day, especially if you tie it back overnight.
