Clinique

Clinique was founded in 1968 by Evelyn Lauder, part of the Estée Lauder Corporation. Clinique was the world’s first allergy tested, dermatologist driven  skin care line. Since it’s debut, the company owned by Estée Lauder, is the creator and manufacturer of several personal needs lines, including skincare, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances.

Allergies

One of the main reasons Clinique was created was to provide a dermatological line for person’s that could not use other products due to allergies. As a result, Clinique avoids all known allergens in every product. Afterwards, they test every product for allergic reactions. Each product is tested on 600 people 12 times, and there must be zero recorded reactions in order for it to be released to the public.

The Products

Skin Care

Clinique’s basic method of skin care is the belief in maintaining skin’s hygiene and cleanliness. Each skin type or condition requires its own set of skin products to meet those basic needs, including men’s and women’s skin care. Depending upon the area of the globe, the product formulas may be slightly different. Every region re-evaluates the products to deliver their best performances. This occasionally results in ingredient changes.

Cosmetics

Due to their belief in allergen free products, Clinique’s cosmetics line is one of the best in the country. Their cosmetics line includes everything from foundation, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow, eye makeup, and lips. Clinique also offers a special line of makeup brushes. Each is coated with an antibacterial solution.

Fragrances

Clinique has developed several fragrances over the years that have appealed to wide audiences. Aromatics Elixir was the original, debuted in 1971. Clinique Happy came out in 1997. It’s fruity, floral fragrance quickly became Clinique’s top selling perfume. Clinique Wrappings is a special perfume product sold only around the Christmas season, but its spicy fragrance makes it an instant hit.

Hair Care

After mastering the art of skincare and cosmetics, Clinique expanded its expertise to hair care. Clinique has developed several shampoos, conditioners, gels, and hair sprays. Each one is developed to give hair the best care while limiting its exposure to unhealthy allergens.

Clinique Skin Care - The Basics

Clinique Skin Care sets up habits that guarantee healthy, great looking skin no matter what age you are.

The unique Clinique system was developed over 30 years ago by a leading dermatologist. He discovered that a regular routine of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing would to create beautiful, glowing clear skin.

As the skin care routine was developed, it was vitally important that the routine be quick, simple, and easy. Otherwise, very few people would want to use it.

The 3 Steps

  • Step 1: Cleansing
The cleansing step is more than just washing your face. It is the preparation of your skin for the rest of your skin care regimen, especially exfoliation. Cleansing removes dirt, oil and other pollutants that have been caught by the surface skin.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Extra-Mild is used in the first step of the 3 step system, one of the unique skin type formulated facial soaps. It is specially designed to cleanse without stripping skin of its lipids.

  • Step 2: Exfoliation
Probably the most important step for developing and maintaining glowing, healthy looking skin. Exfoliating removes the upper layer of dead, dry skin cells and allows new vibrant skin cells to move to the surface. This step gradually reduces the appearance of clogged pores as well as mild signs of aging, including fine lines, discoloration, and wrinkles.

Clinique uses lotions, like Clarifying Lotion 2, that is multi-purpose. While it sloughs off the outer layer of cells, it also provides needed moisture for deep penetration.

  • Step 3: Moisturizing
After exfoliation, skin should immediately be fed with a rich moisturizer like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisture Lotion.

With the outer layer of skin or armor gone, the nourishing moisture, vitamins, and minerals can absorb into the lower layers of the epidermis.  This allows your skin to be hydrated and healed from the inside out. This softens, smoothes, and improves your skin.

With a daily skin care routine of cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing, your skin will become the clear, healthier version you've been looking for. Your skin's moisture barrier will be letting in the good and keeping out the bad. As a result, your skin will be firmer, glowing,  and have a little spring to it.
